Appraisal Intelligence: A Practical Guide for Real Estate Professionals

This Live Online course is delivered via Zoom. After purchasing the course, you'll have access to register for the class session of your choice. Click here to see upcoming classes.

Appraisals can make or break a transaction — yet many licensees have little formal training on how they work. This three-hour live online course closes that gap. You will learn how appraisals are ordered and conducted, how to read a standard appraisal report, and what options may be available to buyers and sellers when the appraised value falls short of the contract price. Special attention is given to the Reconsideration of Value (ROV) process, including FHFA policy guidance. The course also covers new construction and unique property appraisals, as well as the licensee's responsibilities related to appraisal bias and fair housing.

Ethical Excellence: Raising the Bar

There’s a reason real estate agents often rank among the least trusted professionals in the U.S. But what can you do to improve the public’s perception? And what should you do when you run into an ethical dilemma or into a licensee who’s not behaving ethically? As a real estate professional, you can help raise the bar and improve the reputation of the industry. You can lead by example.

Aligned to the requirements of the current NAR cycle, this course will empower you to recognize and respond to ethical dilemmas, inspiring consumer confidence. For answers, we’ll look to several articles of the National Association of REALTORS® Code of Ethics, and draw from real-life ethical scenarios. In four short hours, you’ll be better prepared to exemplify the professionalism and cooperation that’s the true foundation of the real estate industry.

Course highlights include:

  • Meets both regular ethics renewal requirements and new licensee ethics course requirements
  • The importance of ethical behavior in NAR members and non-members alike, fostering a spirit of cooperation
  • History and evolution of the Code, the preamble, and the Code’s influence on state licensing laws
  • Structure of the Code
  • Review and application of articles 1, 2, 3, 9, 12, 15, and 16 of the NAR Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice
  • Case studies of real-life ethical challenges
  • Mediation and arbitration, with arbitration as the monetary dispute resolution process between REALTORS®
  • Application of Article 17 of the NAR Code of Ethics to the complaints and hearing process
  • Grievance committee vs. professional standards committee
  • The ethical dilemmas presented by newer technologies
  • Best practices for demonstrating ethical behavior every day

*This course was designed by us to meet the REALTOR® Code of Ethics Training Requirement. Please confirm that your local association, who administers the Code of Ethics training, will accept this course.

First-Time Homebuyers in Today’s Market

This Live Online course is delivered via Zoom. After purchasing the course, you'll have access to register for the class session of your choice. Click here to see upcoming classes.

The first-time homebuyer of today looks nothing like the buyer agents learned to serve a decade ago. The typical first-timer is now 40 years old, earns nearly $100,000 a year, and represents just 21% of all buyers — an all-time low. They have been delayed by student debt, priced out by a historic affordability crunch, and are entering the market during one of the most complex buying environments in modern real estate history. To serve them well, agents need an updated playbook.

This three-hour live online course delivers that update. Participants will examine the demographic and financial forces reshaping today's first-timer, the affordability and inventory challenges defining the entry-level market, and the financing tools — from FHA and down payment assistance to builder buydowns — that make homeownership possible for cost-constrained buyers. The course closes with a practical focus on buyer representation: articulating your value, navigating the compensation conversation, and tailoring your consultation to the life stage and mindset of today's first-time buyer.

Home Inspection Essentials for Real Estate Professionals

This Live Online course is delivered via Zoom. After purchasing the course, you'll have access to register for the class session of your choice. Click here to see upcoming classes.

Understanding home inspections isn't just for inspectors. For real estate professionals, it's one of the most valuable areas of knowledge you can develop — directly influencing how confidently you advise clients, how smoothly your transactions close, and how well you protect yourself from liability. This course provides a comprehensive look at the inspection process, from what happens during the walkthrough to how reports are written and what licensees should — and shouldn't — do with the information they contain.

Built with insight from AHIT, a nationally recognized home inspection training organization, this course bridges the gap between the inspector's world and the real estate licensee’s role. You'll come away with a clearer understanding of inspection reports, a stronger ability to counsel buyers and sellers through difficult findings, and practical strategies for keeping deals together when the unexpected comes up.

Iowa Law Update Course

This 8-hour Iowa Real Estate Law Update satisfies the mandatory law update continuing education requirement for active Iowa real estate licensees. The course opens with a foundational review of the real estate profession — covering areas of specialization, property types, professional organizations and designations, broker-agent relationship structures, and compensation models — before moving into a comprehensive examination of Iowa's governing statutes and administrative rules.

Professional Real Estate Practice in the AI Age

This Live Online course is delivered via Zoom. After purchasing the course, you'll have access to register for the class session of your choice. Click here to see upcoming classes.

This course examines how artificial intelligence is changing the practice of real estate brokerage and what that means for licensees’ professional obligations. Through instructor-led discussion, guided practice scenarios, and live prompting exercises, participants apply AI-assisted approaches to client communication, transaction management, and market research — while maintaining the professional judgment, accuracy standards, ethical responsibilities, fair housing compliance, antitrust awareness, and consumer protection obligations required of licensed real estate professionals. The course addresses emerging regulatory concerns including AI use in advertising, professional integrity, client data security, and the licensee’s continuing duty to consumers in an environment where AI platforms are increasingly part of the real estate landscape. The course does not teach software operation; it teaches professional decision-making in an AI-assisted practice.

Real Estate Scams: Modern Tactics and How to Spot Them

This Live Online course is delivered via Zoom. After purchasing the course, you'll have access to register for the class session of your choice. Click here to see upcoming classes.

Real estate transactions are increasingly targeted by sophisticated scam activity fueled by digital communication, remote closings, public access to property records, and evolving impersonation tactics. In this course, licensees examine modern real estate scams that commonly impact buyers, sellers, landlords, tenants, and real estate professionals, including wire fraud, seller impersonation, deed and title fraud, and rental scams. The course explains how these scams operate, why they are becoming more prevalent, and where transactions are most vulnerable to manipulation.

Through real?world examples and scenario?based discussion, participants learn to recognize warning signs such as urgency tactics, abnormal communication patterns, and documentation inconsistencies. Emphasis is placed on practical, risk?reduction strategies licensees can apply during listing, marketing, contracting, and closing stages, as well as appropriate professional responses when potential scam activity is identified. By strengthening awareness of modern scam tactics and how to spot them early, this course supports licensees in protecting clients, reducing transaction risk, and maintaining professional trust.

Roadmap to Success - Business Planning for Real Estate Professionals

More than 80% of real estate licensees leave the business within the first two years, and this is primarily due to a lack of understanding of what it takes to succeed. Of those who stay, very few earn a lucrative living at it.

Don't be that licensee.

Whether you're just launching your business or you think it's time to level up, this course will give you the tools to launch your career from a solid foundation, one that lets you know what you need to do today, this week, this month, this quarter, and this year to execute your well-considered business plan.

This course will show you how to take stock, create a vision, and gather the tools necessary to achieve that vision so you can create a professional, exemplary, referral-driven business that serves clients needs and exceeds client expectations.

Course highlights include:

  • Helpful ideas for defining your real estate business, vision statement and mission statement
  • A Business Plan Worksheet that will help you determine goals and execute your plan
  • Details about identifying strengths and weaknesses, and setting realistic, attainable goals
  • An editable, customizable Business Plan Template
  • How to calculate the action steps needed to achieve success as you define it

Skilled Negotiator, Trusted Advocate: Real-World Tools for Agents (Live Online)

This Live Online course is delivered via Zoom. After purchasing the course, you'll have access to register for the class session of your choice. Click here to see upcoming classes.

Negotiation is at the heart of every real estate transaction. To represent clients effectively, licensees must navigate offers, counteroffers, and terms with skill, professionalism, and a clear understanding of both ethical responsibilities and client priorities.

This live online course equips real estate professionals with practical frameworks, micro-scripts, and checklists to move confidently through the four phases of negotiation—planning, opening, bargaining, and closing—while safeguarding consumers and delivering exceptional client service. Through realistic scenarios, role plays, and discussion, participants will learn to convert objections into options and document agreements clearly.

Course highlights include:

  • Negotiation strategies in varied situations: Use LAER + OPTIONS on price, repairs/credits, appraisal risk, financing hiccups, and cross-cultural scenarios.
  • Set realistic client goals: Ground expectations in comps, timelines, contingencies, and clear tradeoffs with response deadlines.
  • Know your role & serve inclusively: Distinguish facilitator vs. advocate; apply agency duties (OLD CARD), and handle offers objectively.

Upholding Fair Housing Laws

Fair housing law stands as a cornerstone of civil rights legislation, aiming to eliminate discrimination in housing markets and ensure equal opportunities for all individuals regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, familial status, disability, or any other protected characteristic. By understanding the importance of fair housing law, licensees recognize its pivotal role in fostering inclusive communities and combating systemic inequalities. This course explores the historical context, key provisions, and practical applications of fair housing law, equipping licensees with the knowledge and tools necessary to uphold these principles in their professional endeavors.

Real estate licensees play a vital role in upholding fair housing principles and safeguarding the rights of all individuals in the housing market. As gatekeepers of property transactions, licensees must stay abreast of fair housing laws and practices to ensure ethical and nondiscriminatory conduct. Beyond legal compliance, embracing fair housing principles fosters trust, promotes diversity, and enhances business success in an increasingly diverse marketplace. This course will empower licensees to navigate complex fair housing issues with confidence, fostering a culture of inclusivity and advancing the vision of fair and equitable housing for all.

This course was designed to meet the REALTOR® Fair Housing Training Requirement. Please confirm that your local association, who administers the Fair Housing training, will accept this course.
